A charity campaign launched by Colliers International, the Seattle-based commercial-real-estate company, is hoping to use social media to raise big money.
Everyone Gives is an eight-day effort that launched Wednesday. The Seattle Times reports that after the first day, the website reported more than $160,000 in pledges and 4,000 participants in 53 countries.
Everyone Gives has more than 900 charities, including American Cancer Society and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Users start off by making a donation to a charity at everyonegives.org, then the donor can tell friends about it through Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn.
